Typical Application Circuit 4: External EMC Components

The diagram above illustrates a typical connection of the MSR7810WUP 3. Recommended values for components are:
series for applications that require meeting EMC standards. Some notes on Component Value Component Value 4. The values for C1 and C2 are given in the
this diagram (starting with the input circuit) are: “Component Values” table on page 2.
1. It is recommended that an external fuse be used. The fuse should be MOV S20K30 LDM2 12 µH 5. The LC fi lter LOUT & COUT is only needed if
selected based upon the actual input current of the application. For more LDM1 82 µHC1 See Note 4 very low ripple is required. For recommended
information please call the factory. C3 680 µF/50V C2 See Note 4 values for these components, please contact
2. An external MOV is recommended on the input to protect the unit in the C4 4.7 µF/50V the factory.
event of a surge. A recommended value is given in the table at right.

Mechanical Dimensions

Packing Carton

Pin Connection Notes:
1. MSR7810WUP units are shipped in a product carton (inner carton)
which is then paced into a shipping carton. The shipping carton will hold
Positive Output
two product cartons.
Pin Function 2. Products are placed into individual slots cut into foam trays. A foam cover
1 +VOUT is then secured to the tray. Each tray will hold 140 units. Up to four trays
will fi t into a product carton.
2 GND
3 +VIN
Negative Output
Pin Function Notes:
1 GND • All dimensions are typical in inches (mm)
2 -VOUT • Tolerance x.xx = ±0.01 (±0.25)
3 +VIN • Pin 1 is marked by a “dot” on the front of the unit
